I may be there as the fun you guys had last year looks like it shouldn't be missed.
Do you guys have a meeting time?

Do you guys have a meeting time?
My guess is the geriatric crowd will appear at reflection lakes around 9ish. But folks tend to continue to arrive until 12:00 or 1:00 and start leaving about that time as well, with the most stalwart of the athletes continuing to get soaked until about 2:00 or 3:00 if the sun holds out.
Folks have also been know to continue the festivities with tail gate parties back at reflection lakes.
We actually had a bevy of non-skiing spectators for last year's spectacle.
So if you or any of the rest of you want to show your non-skiing friends and loved ones how really asinine backcountry skiers can behave, this would be your very best chance
If the past is any indication, you'll likely have so much fun you'll be back again next year.

I'm sidelined for the time being so my coconuts will be dry and have to stay at home this year.
<Insert drink of choice>, climb, < >, skim, < >, dry off, < >, climb, < >, skim, < >, dry off. I see a pattern developing.
And the hike down...clink, clink, clinkity clink.
Whatever happened to Donnely?? If you don't remember he's the skier that showed up after doing some all night mountain run back in Slush Cup 04 or 05. He proceeded to down a quart of milk, faster than a German drinking from das boot at Beerfest, in 85 degree weather and proceeded to ski switch. Just one of many moments from the archived memories. Btw I think the milk was laced...hmmm Clockwork Orange??
Phil, great viddy!

Sad news for us in Eastern Washington. WSDOT has closed White Pass for some extensive rock removal. This, along with Hwy 123 being out of order, means there won't be much of Yakima/Ellensburg contingent this year. We won't be able to bring Kevin aka John Deere over for your entertainment. Best wishes for a great day.

Sad news for us in Eastern Washington. .... We won't be able to bring Kevin aka John Deere over for your entertainment. That's a serious set-back for the entire event. Ol' John Deere has attained near "Rock Star" status in his ability to entertain the masses at this event (for those that have not yet made the event, that's John Deere's picture on the "cover" of this thread). We will sorely miss him. If memory serves, Glenn, you will have some youngsters that will be disappointed as well.
Eric - We'll miss your coconut rack as well. Sorry you're laid up, mate.
On another note, we know we've hit the big time when we've made GATOR'S BLOG. It'd be fun to have a few ranger playin' with us in the pond, eh?
With that kind of notoriety it would probably be a good idea for us all to take heed of JERRY'S CAUTIONARY NOTE.
See y'all Sunday.
Rock on.
