I headed in hoping to ski Lava Ridge but met Jason Hummel at the trail head. His report convinced me it would be more fun (and less dangerous) to just hike and take photos. Thought I might get up the north ridge, but choose not to after shooting the sunrise, so I hiked out and headed north to Rainier. I wouldn't bother bringing skis in here any more this season.

Sunrise on Rainier (this was one of the best looking slopes for skiing)
