Started from the trailhead at 8:15 (4200'). We found snow at around 4700' but put the skis on only at around 5400' on the traverse to Ingalls Pass.
We then climbed to the col between the Ingalls North and South summits, this is a really nice section with amazing views on Mt Stuart.
There were 2 parties of climbers on the 5.4 climb up to the North summit.
We chose to not go over the snow to the south summit as we didn't have crampons or ice axe and the slope was quite steep; so we chose to scramble up over the rocks - which with skis ans ski boots took quite a bit of time.
We skied down from the very top on the South-East slopes. The entry to the slope was a fun ski with first a fairly narrow ridge to ski and then a drop into the summit couloir between 2 rocks that are separated by only a few feet.
The first slope was an amazing ski, steep angle and some really good corn snow. Further down, the snow got really heavy and slow. We descended through Ingalls pass and traversed back the way we came up. We found an avalanche path that allowed us to ski down all the way to 4900 feet. Another 15 minutes of hiking later we were back at the car.
With warm temperatures this week, expect the approach to require you to carry skis up to 5400 feet at the end of the week.
