Note that although our ascent entailed several portages of a very short distance (i.e., like about from a resort base lodge to a lift corral), our descent was entirely portage-free . . . well, except for tromping over some vegetation for about a meter or so, for which GJ started to chastise me, at first because I thought he was concerned about the fragile alpine ecology, but then it turned out he was more concerned about my Trabs.
Also, although I did take a course in grad school from the econ prof that youtube video mocks, this is actually the conference:
