Khahn, Tobae, Tim and I had a terrific time on the Squak Glacier on Mt Baker today.  Can park about 1.5 m from trailhead.  Headed due N from outhouse to E side of Crag View.  From Crag View up the Squak is straight forward, not many open crevases.  Roman Wall had at least 1 foot of new under a breakable crust.  Luckily another party had just postholed the whole thing (thank you!) so travel was easier.  Windy at the summit so did not linger.  Watson traverse looks great.  Tim and I headed up Sherman Peak, easy to get up and down.  Ski down was great (except the Roman Wall), all the way to the car.

Sounds like a good trip...I was thinking of heading up there next week.  I have never been to Baker and would appriciate as much info as you could share.  Such as, time you left the car, time to summit, how far could you skin, is there a need to rope up, etc.

Thanks,
Pawkala
