May 25, Sahale Arm

Michele and I walked up past the Eldorado parking lot to Sahale on Friday. About 3 miles. Cascade road is washed out and doesn't look to be fixed any time soon. Starting the tour late, around 11:30, we skinned up to Cascade Pass and up on to the Arm. Around 2:30 we noticed lots of rocks coming down from the other side towards mix up and some big wet sloughs. Being late and warm (despite some high clouds), we turned around and skied back to the road. Cut lots of benign wet sloughs just beneath Cascade Pass in the soft unconsolidated snow. They oozed down in blobs. Then we walked out on the road watching various debris come down from near the top of Johannesburg.
