RE: Conditions in Oregon? was created by abreibart
I plan to ski something in Oregon over Memorial Day. I have bounced a few ideas:

Middle Sister
Mt. Thielsen
Mt. Jefferson
North Sister
Mt. McLoughlin.

Does anyone have any current information regarding conditions and access to any or all of these areas?

I am driving from the Mt. Lassen area.

Thanks,

Andrew

Thielsen is parking on the paved road.
Bailey is in big now.
Dont Forget about the lines to the rangerstation at Crater Lk.

North Sister. Early Morning Couloir....

Closest thing to the parking lot at PoleCreek....2 miles to the treeline on the moriane. 1 mile over to the base of the thing. +/-2500'??? Huge HourGlass with Big "mile wide" runout and a 40m wide x 70m long pinch with 1000' of bowl above. mostly runs at 35ish deg.

It is one of the main features on the NE face.

good luck. I've climbed it twice and wish i'd had my skis both times....actually only once because the second time was around thanksgiving it was verglais over rhime. But the June condions Rocked...get there early...before sun up if you can.
