April 18th-21st, 2007, Mt. Ruth, Mt. Hannegan
« on: 04/22/07, 03:50 PM »

On a failed attempt on Mt. Challenger (time) we skied Peak 6701 west to Mt. Hannegan then skied the south ridge of Mt. Hannegan to Hannegan Pass.  We then climbed to the saddle just north or Mt. Ruth where we spent the night.  After weathering some winds we skinned to the summit of Ruth and enjoyed boot top cold snow.

We found a few down trees on the Hannegan Road one real early that we were able to drive under (barely) then ran into snow about 2 miles from the trail head.

Cheers
John Schaefer

Awesome. One of my all time best trips was over ruth and mineral to whatcom and challenger. I love that area. Thanks for the pics  Grin. Way to get out there and give it a go!
