whistler - Decker glacier - 800ft slide - no fatalities
Not me or sharon who were involved. Came off the Decker Main Face and ran into a party of 4 who saw a skier triggered sz 2 off the cornice entry to the finger chutes. Looks like skier involved entered the slope. Crown looked pretty distinct with remote trigger around the normal entry wrapping around the convex roll entry from E to W perhaps 20 - 30m.
Looks like skier got flushed through rocks framing finger chutes and was deposited on apron at base of Fingers. He lost a ski but was otherwise unhurt. Finger chutes is N slope and is about 300m west of our ski run. We had no view of the event as a ridge separates the two slopes
Snowing about S-1 for 2 - 3 hours today. N slopes skied decent - boot top powder with 3-5 cms of SH deposited on top. In the morning SE slopes skied w ell too with boot top powder and some isolated hard pockets. Warmed up during the day and several hard slabs formed on solar aspects.
Cloud cover indistinct throughout the day.
Glad buddy was ok. Props to him for immediately phoning it in to Dispatch
Will post pics later of slidepath - see here - http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1241778&postcount=6
