Tobae McDuff, Sundee Morris, and I went up Pilchuck today.  Snow stopped the car at 2,000 ft, approx. 3.5 miles from the trailhead.  Surprisingly deep and sticky breaking trail - 10-12 inches of wet concrete to  plow through in places.  Leisurely pace to the top.  Skied down the SE chute and further down to the S for a nice run, then back up to the col and followed skiers right ridgeline to about 4,000 where we crossed the valley to the left to regain our uptrack.  Decent skiing, lots of sluffing.  Ski cut the SE chute and a wet soft slab came down with quite a bit of snow in it.  Be cautious out there this weekend.  A couple of 4x4's had gone quite a ways up the road and one could most likely drive within less than 2 miles of the trailhead this weekend.
Finally, a Pilchuck report!

any bootpack up there, or just skin tracks?

Hello Oyvind this is Eric.

I hiked heather lake on pilchuck one day after you hiked it. It was nice beside the sloppy snow.

If you are ever in the need of a partner give me a call, I'd love to get out!
