What a fun day.
The morning snow report listed 2" of new snow overnight but it seemed more like 4" since hard carves weren't scraping the rainpack beneath. VERY light snow and clouds to begin the day but more & more sun appeared until about 2pm when things began to sock in once again. Looks like the upper lodge is closed for the season so all ski area traffic is being directed to White Salmon. That said, I don't think the parking lot got more than half full for the day.
To my shock, the canyon was actually groomed and not the mogul minefield is usually is. The chute underneath Chair 1 was not as lucky- pretty choppy. Didn't see any avy activity off of Hemi but saw a number of slides off of Table Mountain as well as a few off of Kulsan Ridge.
Just another day at Baker.
