Claire and I skied the McClellan Butte Northeast Couloir from below the summit block. We weren't able to skin up as close to the top as reported earlier, maybe one-third up, so we booted the rest. There were a few inches of fresh snow on not too hard crust, which made the skiing nice. The old logging road still has some snow, but it's melting fast. It's a great line and not that steep. Go get it as long as it's in condition.
Did you see any worms in it? I saw three the other day... they looked like ice worms, except slightly thicker and longer. "snow worms" ???
No, I haven't, but maybe you can find out more here:

Now my day is complete...I now know I could survive on the Ice Worms if I lost my pack. Nice post!
Thanks for the ice worm link, we saw a bunch of them yesterday morning. I also often see a small spider on the snow; small round body with longer front legs. Does anyone know what these are? I have wondered what they are eating out there in the middle of snowfields. Ice worms?
