With the fog settled in thick right at Snoqualmie Pass, I decided to head back down I-90 to Granite Mountain, which was still basking in the high cloud-filtered sun. The fog was slowly making its way westward and up, but the Granite Mountain summit remained fog free for the entire day. While the views were spectacular, the snow was not. Almost no snow at the bottom turned to heavy wet slop about half-way up. The snow on the top 1000 ft or so wasn't so bad. It was south facing and wind scoured, so it had started to consolidate into corn. Wet slides were prevalent but were very slow moving. Here's some pics:
