2/11/07 Circumnavigate Chair Peak

Myself and my brother in law and 3 dogs headed out from the upper Alpental parking lot to Source lake.  Once at source lake we met David and Ingrid and joined forces to circumnavigate chair pk.  We got up above Snow lake and decended down on mostly ice.  Made our way towards Rossevelt peak and headed up towards Chair lake.  Skins were no good on the steep and icey gulley so we booted it up to Chair lake and then on to Malakwa pass.  Got a few soft turns in the sun soaked slopes down towards Malakwa lake.  Traversed over to Bryant Col and skinned to the saddle.  We decended down the shaded slopes that were much like a chalk board (we were giant fingernails) back to Source lake.  The weather, hike and views were fantastic but the snow conditions were dismall.  Good tour for getting out and catching some great vistas.
