Feb 17, 2007, Chair Peak circumnavigation

Followed RonL and Paul's tracks up Chair basin and down to Snow lake where we met them on their return.  Found the same soft and a bit gloppy but fun to ski snow in the sun and breakable crust in the shade.  Skinned and then booted up to Chair Peak Lake. From here the crust was firm enough to easily walk/boot up to Melakwa Pass.  Very nice spring-like conditions on the descent from Melakwa Pass - 1-2" soft on top of a firm base.  Skinned up to Bryant/Chair col.  The descent down the other side was icy but firm changing to icy with beakable crust on the lower slopes above Source Lake.  Car to car was 6 hours.  A great day out in beautiful sunshine!
