Dave called me at 12:45 this afternoon, and by 2 we were skinning around Guye Peak from the houses above Alpental Road. We saw this couloir last season while skiing up on Kendall. We skied off the summit of Guye Peak at 3:30 and dropped into the couloir just down the ridge--50 feet at the most. We brought a rope just in case, but it was not needed. From below the exposure looked interesting, but once we were in it, the gulley was nice and deep, so we just concentrated on skiing and having fun. Back to the car by 4:15--pretty civilized!

Dave posted some more pictures here:

Yeehaw - I've peeked down that sucker in the summer, and I'd say the action shots in your post give a good sense of just how steep that sucker is. Nice job - thanks for sharing.

Yum! Way to get the goods!

Nice!
Any shots of it from far away?
