Started skinning at 2pm this afternoon. The road has not seen any snowmobile traffic in a couple of weeks and I was sinking in through the 2-3 inches of wet heavy new into the quickly softening and melting sludge that was the snowpack just two weeks ago. The going was slow for sure. I skinned to a high point around 4000 feet and rode the steep east facing lines straight back down to the hwy. It was somewhat difficult in the heavy sludge but if you kept up your speed it was fun.
