Last weekend (right in time for Valentine's Day) I received my long-awaited new skis: 178 Dynafit Mustagh Atas. Today was our first date. Unfortunately conditions were a bit lackluster, but the skis were still great. We went up to Tline for a short southside tour. 3/4s of the way up the Palmer we turned around due to no vis and high winds. Conditions on the way down consisted of ice, but it was still fun.

After ordering the skis, I agonized if I should have gotten the size smaller--the 169s. I wondered if getting the 178s would ruin my identity as a light-is-right person. Fortunately, my friends tell me this isn€™t the case, and the 178s do ski great. They are very stable and damp (this is relative to the worn-out Miras I€™ve been using). I€™m very pleased with them.
