Todd and I decided to head out towards Hoodoo to get some turns in.  The weather was nice and sunny, but probably better suited to wind surfing than riding.  When we left the truck there was a sustained wind of about 30mph, and as we got nearer the top (a large ridge formation north of the highway) the winds were gusting to 60mph (I'm guessing about that, but we nearly got blown over a few times and large pieces of ice crust were blowing in the air!).

As you can guess, conditions were less than desirable - mostly an icy crust, with wind loaded southwest to west slopes due to the northerly winds.  The view more than made up for the cruddy conditions - we could see from Diamond Peak to the south to St Helens to the north (10 major volcanoes in all)!  Skinning on the new splitboard proved difficult on the steeper icy sections, but it beat snowshoeing!  The turns on the way down were icy but managable.  Below are a few pics from the outing............
