A very lazy touring day, but good turns were found.  Took the chairs up to the top at Hyak and scooted across to Catherine.  Reached the top just as a group of three skiers and a splitboarder finished setting the skin track (thanks again!).  The upper glades were nice, calf deep powder, dense enough to float above the crust.  Some strange layers in the snowpack observed out in the open, but in the glades the snow was sluffy, but no whoops or propigating cracks.

Highlight of the day was while getting on the chair at Hyak a middle-aged man with a face painted up with stripes of zinc-oxide and sporting a red one-piece ski suit blew through the five people that comprised the lift line and skied over Becky's boards to get on the chair before us.
there were some good turns to be had (skier #2 here, guy in green).  i missed the guy with the face-paint though...
