Stevens Pass Backcountry January 15, 2007

After my partner for today's adventure had to back out, I was left with a difficult (sort of) decision. Should I ride the lifts with all of the holiday warriors, or go back and tool around the Grace Lakes area? Well the latter won out and I must say it was stupendous! fresh lines and lots of surface hoar made for stunning scenery! That surface hoar will come back to haunt us I think though! After making laps on Hunter Hill, I rode it out to the highway thinking I could skin up the snowbank back to the ski area and thus avoid the WSP. After struggling to stay on the snowbank I finally gave up and dropped off to the highway. I quickly walked back to my car (without seeing the man, thank god!) and left the masses to their tracked out ski runs! In all it was a fine day to be out playing in the snow!
