On Saturday, we parked at the White Salmon Lodge at about 8am, so we had a good view of our intended route.......because of our good parking spot. It was evident with the naked eye that the proverbial pinball machine otherwise known as the lower portion of the White Salmon was strewn with ice and other slide debris.
While on approach, I had hopes that snow quality was somewhat promising. To my dismay, it quickly became wind crusted with potential for a skier induced wind loaded slab slides. Needless to say, our high point was roughly 6000'. Overall it was a nice outing, but the turns were slightly less than desirable.
