December 16-18, 2006, Marriot Basin (Cayoosh) B.C.

We were four people who made our way up to the Wendy Thompson Hut this past weekend.  The hut was full, but we were the only skiiers.  It took the four of us about 4hrs to break through about 20" of new.  Typically the ascent from 99 would take 3hrs or less.  Anyways we had much to drink (not referencing H20)......that's a different story though.

On Sunday there was much work to be done, with rather favorable touring conditions. Perhaps our finest run was the first of the day when we dropped over the ridge from Marriot Basin and to the Northern flanks of Cayoosh Mt.  Many fine lines were to be had, but only enough time for a few.

The conditions were perhaps some of the finest mid Dec. conditions.  The Cayoosh looks to be in awesome shape for some fine lines.
