We had the ridge to ourselves yesterday.  The snow quit falling in the morning as soon as we left the car, and didn't return until we were on our way out.  In between the wind was mild except right at the top of the clear cut, and another open slope further up ridge.  The snow in the open was 4-6" on top of a soft crust, under the trees, a trace with a harder crust.  I had hoped to find some unaffected snow off the ridge but it was all touched by the inversion earlier.  So instead of harvesting turns, we applied our efforts to exploration and proceeded further north.  Our efforts were finally rewarded by some open slopes having 4" of new snow sitting uneasily on the soft crust, much as earlier reports have indicated.  We yo-yoed the slope a few times, then traversed up and out, back to the knob.  We found the clear cut to be difficult skiing, due to the low cover and growing forest, so opted for the deep woods, which wasn't much fun, but at least a little more open.
This new storm cycle will make for some potentially hazardous skiing if there isn't some bonding developing with the crust.
