December 10 -- Snoqualmie Pass area -- Mt Margaret

Skied logging roads and hiking trail route to the false summit.   Conditions were variable,  mostly good snow (some breakable crust) in the clearcuts -- but the little trees aren't so little anymore so more snow depth is needed open up the throttle.   In the old growth trees there were sections of hideous "tree drip" bullet proof crust with 2-3 inches of new snow -- not enough to smooth all the frozen lumps of snow that fell off of the old trees.  In the old trees there were also small gladed sections of very enjoyable snow -- on the biggest I think I got five turns in a row before hitting another crusty section.   

33 degrees and snowing hard as we left the Gold creek sno-park to head back over Snoqualmie pass.
