We skinned up to the top of Heather Ridge on Saturday.  Dug a pit on the Skyline Bowl side of the ridge on about a 40deg treed slope.  The compression test failed in 2-3 pats at about 12" down, and in another 4 pats at about 24" deep.  The rain crust layer was about 36" deep at this location, and it slid along this layer as well.

We stuck to the trees and headed down, hootin and hollerin through the deep stuff.  There were a few tracks down the first 500-700 ft of the bowl, but below that we had the whole bowl uncut to the bottom.  Had to skin up and hike for an hour to get to the PCT, but after that it was much easier.  The PCT did not have any tracks on it until about 20 minutes past Yodelin.  But it does now!!

Met several groups skiing down Heather Ridge towards Yodelin.

The snow was amazing.  Fairly light with face shots aplenty.

We left just before noon, and got back to the car at dusk.
