2 for 1 Lift Tickets was created by Zap
www.skiwashington.com/shell_2for1.php

Here's a link to the Shell promotion for 2 for 1 lift tickets in the Northwest.
I've used it for a few years.  A new addition this year is Whistler and it is
available everyday  except the holiday blackouts.

I found that it's best to check in the Shell station with the attendant to see
if they have the coupons before pumping gas.

Not bad! The addition of Whistler makes that promo Suck Less! (It was pretty hard to make use of those vouchers at WA areas last year with all the restrictions, I don't much care for night skiing). OTOH I think there's at least one day-resort combo that dropped out. I seem to remember Stevens wasn't restricting to nights only for at least one weekday last year?

Do you know if any Shell stations are doing the deal yet? I stopped by one this morning and it hasn't started... that Whistler 2-1 is good!

I have stopped by a couple of Shell stations and none of the stations that I used last year have the coupons yet. They thought they would have them in December.

Yep -- that Whistler deal is a GOLDEN deal -- good everyday of the week!

I think Whistler must be hurting a little from the strength of Canadian currency.  There are a lot more things on sale up there than in years past, more and better happy hour deals, more vacant storefronts in the village than in the past, etc.

Food for thought -- the new Symphony lift doesn't eliminate the need to trudge uphill for 15-20 minutes if you want to ski the Flute bowl, just the need to walk out (particularly if you are a snowboarder) and then ride a 2 mile fireroad back to Harmony lift.  After a decent snow you can "earn" fresh, avy controlled turns in amazing terrain all day if you aren't afraid of a little effort, which no one here is.  It's not the real BC experience but pretty darned fun and good bank for your buck.

A friend of mine used the 2-for-1 coupon with his season pass to get a friend in free at The Summit. When he asked them at the booth they said, " you need one paid admission then you get a free ticket for a buddy". He then presented them with his season pass and said "ok, here is my one paid admission and here is the coupon". After some discussion with mgmt they ended up allowing it since the promotion did not exclude season passes so using his season pass he was able to get a free pass at no extra charge.

Something to think about if your a season pass holder and want to give it a try.

Does anybody know if these things are available in Oregon yet? I haven't seen them in the Eugene area and the attendants aren't sure when they will be available. Thanks

That station's behind the times then -- we went to Whistler last weekend and got 2-fer-1s at a station in Marysville (by Garza's decent-but-incredibly-slow mexican food) and again at a station in eastern Bellingham area, just south of the border... Screaming deal...

It seems that some stations are starting the promotion in January as Monika mentioned.
I ask before I fill, so I don't miss out.

Are these the same twofers that have limited time frames in which they can be used at each area? My recollection is that the Crystal usage is limited to something silly like after 1pm on Sundays or some such thing. Maybe I'm thinking of a different promotion?

That's the one -- far and away the best deal on the coupon is the unlimited twofer for Whistler.  No blackouts at all, that I can tell.

*Correction* ??? Guess I can't read -- Gregg_C found some blackouts.

Still, a good deal for Whistler...

Just picked one up on Meridian/Bellis Fair Parkway Shell in Bellingham. Can't use the tickets at Whistler over the holiday 23-Jan 2 or so. Also, MLK Holiday weekend and President's Day Weekend are blacked out.

I am planning on spending a few days at Stevens Pass between Christmas and New Years. Am I understanding it correctly to believe that these coupons will be good for that period? The Bellingham station is right on my way down.
