Anyone know about the custom boot place in Ballard was created by bcpinhead
Does anyone know anything about the custom boot shop that is located in Ballard. The address is about 65th and 3rd ave NW.
I am back from my ankle blowout and looking to get my boots thermo fitted again.
Thanks,
BC

Sounds like you're looking for Jim Mates at
CUSTOM BOOT SERVICE
.
Greg Louie did a nice profile on Jim Mates HERE .
I had him do a set of footbeds and thermos for me -- he did a good job. Lots of folks swear by him.
Glad to hear your ankle is better so you can get out again.

Jill and I have had Jim work on our backcountry and downhill boots for years. Jim is an excellent resource.

I have really wide, oddly shapped feet, and Jim did a great job of making the shell wider and then forming the liner. Most comfortable pair of footware I own .

Haven't gone there, but I also highly recommend Martin Rand at Sturtevants in Bellevue. First rate bootfitter and first rate guy. He refit my old Langes with Intuitions last season as well as modifying my new Megarides (purchased elsewhere) for better heel retention and to add some stiffness. Also did a nice job on some new boots for my lovely wife who says it's the first time she's been comfortable in her ski boots ever. He's so busy you need to make an appointment, but once you're in you get excellent service and attention.
