Knowing all was going to drastically change with the incoming rain I didn't think this a worthy TR at the time, but being we were the last to inhabit the Muir Hut Sunday until.........??
Schu and I expected and found a narrow weather window Sunday before the Hurricane hit. Really thought a bunch of others would have the same idea, but saw just one other on the way up (Scotsman?). Made pretty good time in good vis with winds 30-40mph (est) the last 1500' or so. Took a short break in the "nice new" hut and boarded down about 3000'. Most of it was several inches of sugar snow ;D on wind pack with some patches of boiler plate down low, but still good off to the sides and no carry overs. What a shame what's happened since. Forcasts look great for snow; let's hope we can get to it.
