finding the slush cup snow field was created by hookstr
after reading all of the posts from the slush cup. My friend and I tried to repeat the event with a few turns on the snow field. After hiking to the end of the trail at the Pinnacle Peak saddle we scrambled east behind the peak and found the snow field well below us, with no way to get down to it. will somebody please tell me where we went wrong. thanks

Some folks on the Slush Cup day came in that way, but it required some careful downclimbing from the saddle. There was a lower spot farther off skier's right -- not sure where you were standing.
A bunch of folks, myself included, cut off from the trail before it went around the back side of Pinnacle, bushwhacking for a bit and then hooking up with a narrow tread that makes it's way directly up to the outlet for the tarn.
Hope that helps.
