After spending Friday night toward the top of Spray Park, we hiked up to the Flett Glacier and put on the skis. From there 2 carries were necessary to get onto the Russell, and then we skinned up to 9,300 feet or so just below where the snow was looking kind of dirty. Booted to the top of the ridge for a good view, ate lunch, napped for an hour or so, and got ready to ski down around 1:30. Not too many crevasses, and they were still pretty easy to avoid, maybe with the exception of some small ones toward the bottom near the carry over to the Flett. The snow was wonderfully soft on both glaciers, and the Flett was in pretty good condition too in terms of ice--just one really large patch where it flattens at the top. Definitely some high quality August turns!
Damn Robyn, is that you laying down the large railroad track carves in the second picture? Good on you!! I love seeing that!! Thanks for the report.

You caught me. ;D  It was so wide open, I really couldn't contain myself any longer!
