watch the movie (16MB)

Classic: "You don't need much vertical for August turns.  You don't need much snow for August turns."

Allyson - quit teaching school!  Make more movies!

Wow - it's hard to tell from the pics, but it sounds like you rowed a long way to ski about twenty vertical feet on sand?
Kam, you are definitely skiing outside the box!  ;)

Still haven't learned how to paddle I see.  :)  Sorry to have missed it.

That sounds about right (the altimeter logged 30 vert. feet up the dune).

yes, i did get new skis, but no, those are not them.  mine are being mounted with bindings now.  those skis are borrowed. (thanks again monika!)

great day on the dunes for sure.  guess i better get used to it, as dunes may be all i have to ski in va.  i can't wait!  ::)

y'all never cease to come up with creative destinations....

would you believe that Europe actually has a sand skiing resort?

Monte Kaolino in Germany....complete with a surface tow to the top.

lots of stuff...

paddling with Allyson and Cass, we saw:
big bass,
in addition to tall grass,
speeding boats as they passed,
and sand with broken glass...
