Derek, Jessica, Lara, and I had a leisurely Sunday tour to the north east slopes of Table Mountain and found nice skiing on a base of fairly shallow and soft suncups. We were able to ski continuously from the parking lot by the visitor's center and all the way back. Hot weather forecast for the rest of this week will reduce the snowpack considerably, but even the traverse across the south side of Table might be skiable for at least one more weekend.
There are so many different slope aspects to ski in this area that whatever snow softness and suncuppedness one prefers should be findable with a little exploring. If cups are a concern, bring a large party and do multiple laps to smooth the slope. :)
