Mt Adams Sunday afternoon with summit and SW Chutes labeled:

Had a fun day skiing the SW Chutes with well-known SLC TTipster Tri-Ungulate on Sunday. On the way up we skinned up South Butte, which required a few portages; probably best to go the std. summer route now. Some dark clouds rolled in the morning to keep us cool, but were not problematic. We hit the chutes around 12:25 per camera timestamp. The snow was a bit heavy in the chutes, but still fun.

TriU mid chute:

TriU in the chutes w/ St Helens in the background:

On the way out we tried to do the 7000ft traverse (or as Kam suggested, "the Ptex traverse"), but the snow was pretty discontinous and we figured it'd be better to drop to the RTM. We hit the RTM via GPS, but it was still fairly snow covered and hard to follow precisely. We followed the RTM's general direction back to the south climb trail.

Fun day.  :)
