June 20,Alpental

Headed up to Alpental Tuesday afternoon to make a few turns on the last day of spring.  The lift crew was running the chair, but didn't offer to give me a lift up, so hiking it was.  It was melted out up until about mid mountain.  I headed up skiers right side to upper international, and set up a tripod on the lower section to try out getting some action shots with a camera remote.  I got a few with a little practice, though not as successful as I had hoped. 

Still a decent amount of coverage on the upper slopes, although below the traverse it thins a bit.




As I drove into the parking lot, several search and rescue vehicles passed me headed up to lot4, and about an hour later saw the chopper flying in and out of the valley.  Never heard word if there was an incident, or if they were practicing. Hope everything turned out OK.
