April 30 Paradise Glacier MT Rainier

Got to ride in Dorothea's new suburu! We picked up Gary Vogt in Ashford and met the others John Jody and Karin for a early start up. Jody John and karin felt the need to start from up above Anvil Rocks. They skied that most romantic of lines tight to the rock and met us at the entrance to the ParsdiseGlacier. The Schrund below Anvil is sarting to unzip. The paradise itself was totally covered in rip it up corn with nary a crevasse or dip showing.  It should be good  safe skiing for a month or so maybe more?
Thought about skiing out down Goldengates but the sun was doing its thing. Lower elevation had not see the freezing that the upper did . Mazama face was was deep slush but we managed just fine. We shared the afternoon and the slopes with Jessica and MArk from Olympia. go get it! The road from the Horsehoe bend over the Paridise river up to the lodge is still unplowed.
