Big day today, 1935m of up, over 6000' I guess. Worst skiing of the trip, but looks like in the right conditions could be great. Because it's the highest mountain in Austria, (3797m = 12000'?) it is almost always in the wind like Rainier. Interesting ridge traverse at the summit, a real pain with crowds, took us 2 and a half hours up and down the last 500' because this is Easter holiday. Weather crapped out this afternoon, by 6PM raining and socked in. Hope to head for Oetztal next, where they found frozen fritz, the 5000 yr old man preserved in the glacier. Hope to take a lift to start high, conditions below 6600' (2000m) are pretty thin now.
