Jennifer and I took the rails to Whitefish earlier this month. Spent about half the time in the BC, the other half riding the lifts. I layed out some routes and waypoints in Topo but when we arrived we discovered they had installed chairlifts in most of my backcountry 8)
We did venture further out to the north and found some great powder lines , exceptional tree skiing and solitude not far from the ski area. I highly recommend this trip, especially if you get the sleeper car on the train and stay at the fabulous

Nice trip JW. I do remember the exceptional tree skiing there but that was a few years ago and those trees may now be considered "old growth". Zap
