After hitting JH for a few days last year, we opted for a full week trip this year and timed the weather just right. The snowpack was at historic depths and snow/cold temps was forecast for the next week.

First day was bluebird, snow every day after that. First few days we explored the resort and hiked many lines in the Crags. Mostly to the north side were it sees less traffic. Still untouched deep snow on many northern aspects if you looked hard.

After a good foot dump in the village on Tuesday night (3/14) we headed up to Togowotee Mtn Lodge for a pre-planned day of snowcat riding. We missed a great day at JH this day though. First year for this operation which uses Angle Mountain. Great crew, hope it works out for them. The snow was deep and untouched and most of mountain was accessible. There were only four of us in the group allowing us to get more lines than usual. What a great day.

By Thursday, the resort had good snow everywhere and there was a good two feet plus in the Crags, visibility was sketchy though. Took our last hike up the Headwall and down Greybull in the morning. Fresh tracks everywhere. Superb. Took the Tram up one last time to top off the trip.

If you have never been to JH, go now. Looking forward to heading back next year already.
