After looking at the picutures of the Dec 15 Green Mountain tour, we decided to give it a try. For roughly the first 700 vft we had to carry the skis. The next 700 vft we were able to skin up fairly nasty, crusty, brushy snow. Then came the last 700 vft. Pure, beautiful calf to knee high powder on the western ridge. We were mildly worried about wind loading on the northern aspects, but all was stable. An excellent trip, indeed. Considering our woeful snow year, knee high, cold powder was an unexpected treat.
Sounds like TAY trip report forum strikes again, enabling another great ski.
