Very windy at top of bowls & poor vis in the morning & early afternoon. We searched for some reasonable terrain in the upper bowls but didn't really find much. We then descended a few levels and found excellent conditions in & around trees which had provided protection from the nasty winds:

Snow was slabby in pockets. The NWAC reported a 5-10 inch slab which we also found on steep roles ~40 deg. Snow stability seemed much better in areas that had been protected from the wind - a few quick pits showed non-cohesive layer all the way to the old crust on protected slopes. Tree skiing was also fantastic with the snow depth being so deep & trees being slightly more spread apart.
:)
