February 2, 2020 Alpine Meadows Treeline Cirque was created by Zap
It is a windy storm with a coupe inches of new and "wind advisory"Â and the temperature will drop 30 degrees in 8 hours. This is not a typical Sierra ski day.
I wanted to ride the new Treeline Cirque express lift. I was seat 4 and it was early. There is a mid off site and then it ends at the area just below the top of the Sherwood express lift. The great placement is a time saver. You ski the terrain serviced by the Sherwood lift with the early morning exposure to the east side. Eliminates using lifts: Roundhouse or Summit Express, Scott and traverse to the base of the Sherwood lift.Â
The snow service was firm from yesterdays spring conditions. The clouds were lowering, the wind was rising and the temperature is dropping. I used the Treeline, Sherwood and Yellow lifts. A short morning.
The rest of the week is sunny and a rise in temperature from the single digit on Monday and rising each day to friendly temperature.
