January 30, 2010 Mt. Shasta Ski Park was created by Zap
Last spring we were hear when the area was closed for the year and we used our backcountry gear. We had to sign a form for touring. The office folks were great.
Today it was another sunny day with spring conditions. Three lifts provide great steep runs and all runs are tree lined. The background is Mt. Shasta.
They have a "Backside" area with a "cathline". Plus access to a Backcountry Cabin with ski or lift access.

Here's some Shasta history...In about 1978 or 9 I was running ski trips from the Sacramento YMCA. I had an Easter Week trip planed and filled, to go to the My Shasta Ski Bowl -
A resort I'd never been to. I called them up a week ahead to confirm arrangements, and they told he their chairlift was under 30 feet of
Snow from a monster avalanche, and that they would never open again....
We went to Sugar Bowl that week...I still haven't been, but I guess they have relocated to a safer spot!😳
