Here's a quick report from a Mountaineers trip led by Ken to Kendall Knob.
We approached from SW, and found 2 feet of loose dense powder in the forest. Just above trees on SSW slope, compression tests in a pit on SSW at about 3400 showed evenly consolidating powder down 2 feet to a hard base, and it took quite a few vertical whacks with a shovel to make it crumble. Higher up, on SW and SSW aspects at the clearcut it was windpacked with just a few inches of powder with light windslab less than 2 inch thick in spots and scoured to icy packed in some places higher up on SW, Up top, a ruschblock on SE slope wouldn't budge under one skier jumping. Nice conditions in soft dense powder on the SE. Nothing moving, not much wind, sun and clouds trading places, and just a few flakes fell at noon. There's room for more tracks.

Nice to connect another name and face Don_B. The top 2.5 feet of the ruschblock 40 feet below the top of the knob to the SE was also uniform dense powder. Trees and everything away from ridgeline was fun. Mike, pls pm me with the photo web page, thanks.
I have posted photos for the participants from The Mountaineers trip. I also posted the photo of Cooper and his snowboarding friend.
