The snow at the Pass was fantastic today. And lots of it reminded of Utah, or Roger's Pass, eh Tony?
Met at the lot and saw a major storm had occurred:
Temp was 23 glorious degrees and clouds lifting.
The snow was very stable, with a Yard of new snow (2 1/2 feet of consolidating powder and 7" of last night's cold fluff) on top of a wet/warm granular base. SW exposure. Little (how was that possible with 84 MPH gusts?) wind effect (at least up to 5,000').
Amazing how the snowpack recovered. Excellent skiing right now.

3-11 Update: Warm temps and sunshine from friday afternoon crusted the sun affected areas.
How fleeting the glory, but the thoughtful will be rewarded. Enjoy!

Going to give the new three pics limit a test ride. 3/11/06 powder:

Found heavy wind-affected snow just west of the pass today.... pretty underwhelming.
