12/27 - Crystal

A generous 3 out of 5 day.

Weather was on the cool side with light wind and fog off and on all day. Even some occasional freezing fog just to mess with the goggles. 1 out of 2 for weather.

Last night's refresh helped the snow. The groomers quickly got scraped to the ice layer and later in the day lots of rocks started cropping up in the high traffic areas. However, coverage is generally improving. The snow was fairly nice on GV right, Grubstake, Snorting Elk Bowl right, and the doors. Never made it up C6 due to the fog sitting in Powder Bowl. Campbell Basin side looked better, but didn't want to fight the rocks to get over there. None of our party was interested in trying Northway, so someone else will have to post about conditions there. 2 out of 3 for snow.

On the way out, the lower lodge had more people in it than I've ever seen. Brown Bag room was also wall-to-wall bodies. Wore my ski clothes home instead of trying to change in the lodge. Big holiday-week crowds. I think every lot was full when we left.
