December 19, 2019 Summit West was created by Zap
As I approached the Pass, it was sunny. Yes, real sunshine at 8:30am. The Little Thunder(LT) and Pacific Crest(PC) lifts had sunshine slopes. A few backcountry folks were climbing the groomed Big Bill trail and a few times they went into the fluffy powder and some brush. I put on my sunscreen goggles and went to LT lift at 8:50AM. I was the only person at the lift. At 8:55am, I notice some fog. At 9am, they load the lift and I could not see the top of LT. I look over to PC and I notice a short line at PC but the fog was getting thicker.
I put on the wrong goggle sunscreen shield. I usually make a run under the lift but not today. Better coverage along the right skier trail. A made another run and the fog was a bit thicker. Then went to PC and I understand thick fog and limited vision on the upper half of Big Bill. I made a couple more runs and decided to stop before I hit something that was unfriendly. Patience for the next snow storm.

I sure haven't seen the sun in a while! None up north!
