Lovely day out with Kamtron at Heliotrope last Sunday. Lots of people (40+) congregating at Baker due to limited conditions elsewhere, but there was plenty of fresh to be found off the beaten track. Clear and windless, 4-5" of powder on a crust. Cold enough to ski consistently all day. Good coverage, though the crevasses at the top of Heliotrope ridge are still exposed. Skinned up the moraine from treeline.

Also wanted to use the TR forum to shout out a new citizen science project to help us learn more about cold adaptation in alpine snow flies. We need skiers to help us collect these critters. It's simple, you can just scoop them up into a tube on the skin track. You can check out my post in the TAY Random Tracks or read more on our website (snowflyproject.org).
