What constitutes an "early" season?

For me, running into an Elk hunter wading in deep snow as we skied by him on Northway. Early November 1983 if I'm not mistaken. In September, there was 6" of snow at an alpine lake we fish & immersed our hands into the lake water to warm them up! I'll have another, thank you.

Not sure what you are looking for but every year on Oct 5 I think of www.turns-all-year.com/skiing_snowboardi...dex.php?topic=7892.0. I hope I got the link right. Anyway that thread reminds me of why this region is so great. It only takes a foot or so with the right conditions to have real long, real great early season skiing. Maybe that'll be tomorrow!

The ability to tour and ski Mission Ridge in late Sept. / early October qualifies. Maybe come across some huckleberry pickers?
