We knew this would be dicey, but we were pressed for time. ĘIt wasn't too bad going up the logging road to Windy Pass (occasional bare spots in the first mile). ĘThe ascent to Nordic Pass was actually great. ĘI took my skins off looking forward to cruising. ĘThat was a mistake - it took about 45 minutes to travel what would normally be a 10 minute glide down to the groomed trails - thanks to much exposed brush. ĘIn summary: about 6-10 inches on the way up, nearly 2 feet at the top of Nordic Pass, but then back to less than a foot on the way back to the groomed trails. ĘStill, a good conditioner. Ę

Mike, thanks for the good info. I've been in those woods with early snow conditions and I know it can be a real struggle. I'm looking forward to being able to travel through there above all that brush!

Yeah, that's a help, Mikey. I was wondering what things were like back in there. Sounds like we need another Snoqualmie dump or two to make it nice back in there, huh? Thanks for "taking one for the team"!

I was just wondering what the conditions were up in the Snoqualmie area. I just heard on the news today that Snoqualmie has only 10 inches at the base and the downhill areas are hoping to open sometime before Christmas with this new strom front that is suppose to drop some snow.
That Mt Catherine Loop is really great. We had lots of deep pow pow in there last year. Looking forward to it again this year. The tree skiing in through there is some of the best

After a couple of years watching, I'd say it really helps to have 36 inches of snow depth showing on the Snoqualmie telemetry before expecting it to be reasonable up around the Nordic Pass elevation. Sigh...

Good point, Jim... which reminds me; there's a telemetry station at Nordic Pass, at about 4,000 ft elev. as I recall. Does anyone know the URL for that station or how to get the data from it?

I think it is either the 3700' or 3800' station on the Snoqualmie Pass telemetry page. There is this really cool Mountain Weather Browser which gives instant access to all of the telemetry data pages.

The mountain weather browser is a nice feature it really helps make it easier than clicking back and forth finding the data you are looking for. Thanks for all your work keeping this these pages progressing forward its becoming a "must check " on my web browsing
